Bio
I moved from Pittsburgh to DC for graduate school in Museum Studies. I always thought of roller derby as an amazing sport — but only something I could watch, never do. However, in 2011, I made the decision to purchase gear and get on skates for the first time since grade school, when roller skating birthday parties were all the rage. I’ve gained so much confidence — both physically and mentally — from playing roller derby. My derby name and number is an homage to “Star Trek,” as the series was created by Gene Roddenberry and premiered in 1966.
